Friday, March 23, 2007 was a very honorable day for me. Not for what I have done, but for what I was able to do for Sgt. Emerson Brand and his family. Sgt. Brand and three of his fellow soldiers died in Iraq, March 15th, by a roadside
bomb.
Thousands lined the streets from the Greenville airport to the funeral home in Caddo Mills to honor and show respect for Sgt. Brand and his family. About two dozen of the Patriot Guard Riders escorted Sgt Brand and the procession along the route. It truly was an emotional day seeing all the people, the American flags, and businesses closing down to show support.
